Every human being cherishes her or his own private virtual paradise. Fragments of these paradises are reflected in the outside world by all sorts of manmade products, put together as an everlasting stream (img02-fig.1). An incoherent chaos? We will see.
Inside world (here) = virtual = private (img02-fig.1) When these imagined, dialogued or smelt thoughts are still floating in our own brains outlining visions, they are virtual and purely private. They consist of memories and future impressions intervened by real-time input from our direct real-time surroundings.
Outside world (there) = physical = public (img02-fig.1) Thoughts and dreamed paradises become real in the physical world when they are expressed in one way or the other by means of any device; from there on they can be shared with others. They become public to at least one, maybe more other brains (=people).
Connection = sharing = communication (img02-fig.5) When reaching the condition of sharing we are actually 'connecting', connecting to another human being (=brain) globally located somewhere. (We could do this on a virtual level without any device but that is not the issue here). Right here at this stage we have developed a diversity of devices and tools to materialize thoughts and dreams as much as possible. On one hand space is getting filled more and more with a variety of useful or superfluous information; on the other hand space is expanding.
PROPOSAL

This SITUATION is depending on: A SPACE created by real-time devices like human senses, paper, pencil, mobile, computer, image recording/representing devices, sound recording/representing devices. A PLACE where these devices are available or can be used to activate drEamIT (s)p(l)ace (image 01).
SOCIAL IMPACT So a concentration of devices is needed to generate intermediation as broad as possible, a direct (temporarily) fusion. One might say that the connection to external devices enlarges the sensual experiences that can be shared with (the) other(s) all over the world. This sharing has the potention to grow beyond cultural differences. Some symbols will become the same all over the world and are an effective tool to communicate. As skills of users will differ locally and incidently the approach of using and interacting through devices therefor has to be taken seriously into account when some completion is going to be made. The mixture of outcomes will represent concentrated compilations of different (inner) worlds (img02-fig.2, 3 and image 01).
APPLICATION – LOCATION – USAGE – INTERACTION (image 03) drEamIT (s)p(l)ace cannot be solved by traditional architectural or urban solutions as it is happening nowadays. Different conditions are needed ! The start of the building process of drEamIT (s)p(l)ace should be the other way round. Users and devices create drEamIT (s)p(l)ace; they are THE playing and creating conditions. The goal to share and to communicate is the first thing. Questions like - 'Who wants to join ?', 'What do we need to have drEamIT (s)p(l)ace going ?' and 'What is available ?' - are some first conditions to start some situation. Comparison with existing examples has to be watched Argus-eyed, unaware they might become leading and disturb the creative process. Some (s)p(l)aces will exist as permanent areas; some situations will exist without distinctive borders and are temporarily or flexible; they are mainly urban bound, spread all over the world; exact location is depending on wiring, energy supply (network, sun panel power, satellite, etc.), available or specially put, and financial means. In the first instance (s)p(l)aces are recognizably connected to their actual physical spot by locally produced imagery; because of usage this will change through time (img02-fig.4).
PRACTICAL USE OF DREAMS Represented dreams can be seen as sketches for making real physical space. Already started dreams can be continued by somebody else, on their turn he or she can get connected again to somebody else, a chain of imagery evolves, a real-time movie...
